Using PopIt

1. What sorting options are there? Stories can be sorted by category, or all stories grouped together. These groupings can be further sorted by 'Popular', 'Newest', or 'All Time'.
2. What is the 'Popular' option? Stories are sorted based on their internal PopIt score. This score is calculated based upon time and number of pops.
3. What is the 'Newest' option? Stories are sorted based on their submitted date and time.
4. What is the 'All Time' option? Stories are sorted based on their total number of pops.
5. How do I report a story? Click on the 'Report this' link and the story will be flagged for review by PopIt staff. Only user submitted stories may be reported.
6. A story has been submitted by a user, but I can't report it. Why? The story will have been previously report and subsequently verified as ok by a PopIt staff member.

Popping and Dropping

1. What is 'Popping'? By clicking the icon next to a story, you are adding a 'pop' to it. Stories with the most pops appear highest on the popular list. Clicking again will remove your pop.
2. What is 'Dropping'? By clicking the icon next to a story, you are removing a 'pop' from it. Stories with the most pops appear highest on the popular list. Clicking again will restore a pop.
3. Can I Pop and Drop a story? Yes, but the net effect is nil.

Submitting

1. How do I submit a story? Use the 'Submit a Story' button, then fill in the simple form.
2. I submitted a story and now I can't see it? Stories decline in relevance over time; generally speaking a story will disappear from the Popular list no matter how many pops it has after about 10 days. Your story may also have been reported by another user, in which case it will be reviewed by a PopIt staff member and either verified as ok or permantently blocked.
3. Can I submit non-English stories? No, this is an English-only site. Please see our international sites page here for other languages and opportunities.
4. Can I submit pornography? No, submitting this sort of content will result in your account being banned.
5. How can I delete a story I submitted? Please contact support at swiftcurrentventures.com.au to remove a story. Please include the URL of the story.
6. How can I edit a story I submitted? Please contact support at swiftcurrentventures.com.au to edit a story. Please include the URL of the story.

Accounts

1. How do I sign up? PopIt uses Google accounts for verification and user sign in. You can use your existing Google account (e.g. Gmail) or create one if you do not have one.

Comments

1. How do I comment on a story? Click on the comments link under the story, then enter your comment in the form provided.
